Re: How to describe geographic environments for fantasy
I will try and help here, but let me preface this with my weakness is description, in particular setting cause I write before I world build. So, maybe some of the other fantasy writers on the site will pitch in and offer suggestions too.

All I can really suggest is to keep practicing. Maybe find some familiar elements that you know or can see to work with and then develop them from there to be more within your fantasy world. Having some elements of the familiar can help readers accept the more fantastical aspects, helps them suspend their disbelief for the story. Or you can practice using pictures you find on google to start bridging between things you've experienced and settings that are unreal. Though, maybe you just aren't a very descriptive writer. You don't necessarily need to have paragraphs upon paragraphs of description if that's not your style. But some helps for them to see the world, so with practice you can maybe find the balance that works best for you and your story.

Sorry it's not much, but it's about all I can think of this late. Hopefully someone who writes description more will come in later and have more to offer. Good luck!
