First, you should be aware about writing about real people, esp., if you use their real names in the story. You could be subjected to a law suit, if they don't like what you have written about them. But you can change their names and take a chance and argue they are fictitious. You could make up a composite character, which is a character that is drawn from several people you know.There are authors who use that tactic. You could get release forms and have each person appearing in the story, each to each, to sign one. When writing about a villain, it is more powerful to show than to tell. It's all in what the villain says and in what he does. If the villain has doubts, it can be revealed by his thinking or monologue or dialogue with another character, whether friend or foe. Doubts, likewise, could be shown through speech or some specific act by hesitation. It is best to keep the plot moving forward. Allow everything to happen within the story. |
