But I didn't quote you! It's you that are choosing to interpret it that way. Here's what I wrote... Maybe you have defined "science fiction" in your own mind in some way that hinders your progress. Perhaps you should examine that definition, because sentences like "I want people who don't like science fiction to like my science fiction" don't really hold up to close scrutiny, do they? *Pthb* What if I had said, Positions like "Science Fiction can be enjoyed by people who don't like Science Fiction" don't really hold up to close scrutiny, do they? Perhaps I erred in making my example too close to what you said and perhaps that's why it really upset you. I don't know. I don't spend a lot of time correcting and reccorrecting my forum posts so they will have the perfect tone and meaning before I post them. But no offense is intended. I sincerely see a logical flaw. If you feel people who don't like something can be convinced to like it if you try hard enough, that's fine. It's just my opinion that when somebody doesn't like something, it's really hard to make them like it. |
