A reviewing forum for those interested in improving their reviewing skills. |
My reviews are typically long-ish, more than 1000 characters. I don't like to force the length, but I seem to have a lot to say at times. I use a template. It took me years to get so I would use them. Now, I mostly use them. I look at it as my mission to encourage the writing going on. I enjoy it, so why not? I try to be diplomatic and as kind as possible. Most of the writing here is very good, far better than I could do. So, I don't have a lot to criticize really when I review. As judges for the site contest, we were instructed to use the Review Tool. That is how I found out about it, from following Diane Lately, I have been enjoying sending private reviews. Sometimes I use the template but for short things (like reviewing a haiku or a cnote collection) how much can one say? When I have a review that is longer than the item in question, that's weird to me. I have to stop and look at myself in the mirror and say, what's up, HOOves? I enjoy reading and reviewing the most when I choose the reading materieal. I would say I use a variety of techniques, but the Review Tool is definitely an essential element in managing my time. |
