Reviewing with River

Great discussion so far. Viv got this topic off on a fantastic path and it continued from there.

As for me, like River there are some genres that I just avoid for personal reasons but also because I don’t have much of value to add. Since I don’t read or enjoy certain genre I don’t understand the tropes that readers in that genre come to expect. I cannot therefore comment on what may be needed, what would work, and what wouldn’t work. Thus I typically just avoid them.

If it is from a newbie with few reviews, I may review it anyway but put in lots of caveats. Oh well, just my point of view.
