I have had low self-esteem most of my life; however, in college my self-esteem grew because I was in a group of nice people and did some acting. Was a good time. I think the cause of my low self-esteem came because I had to wear braces and because my family lived in a poor section of town. I think a person can balance high self esteem by having confidence in being a person of merit and decency and by being an honest and decent person. It is also important to balance self-esteem by developing inner strength; which can come by believing in a higher power. High self-esteem is important in order to be a happy, successful and productive person. However, high self-esteem doesn't come easy for some--myself included--but it can be achieved with prayer, positive actions and believing in oneself. Morningstar |
