A reviewing forum for those interested in improving their reviewing skills. |
I haven't lately. I will sometimes designate a week or a month where I look for newbies. My first question to them is. What kind of a review do you want? Especially if it's a long piece? I won't do it until I get an answer. In the meantime, I will look at their port and see what they have written to get a feel of their work. I will give them the review they ask for. There are too many time's I've given in-depth reviews and they just wanted a pat on the back. Work with Newies Yes, I have. I have one I'm working with now. Let's be honest. It's a tough job. My fledgling has written a 100K piece of one line paragraphs. She has the story in her head but can't get it in print. No matter how many times I've shown her what she needs to do she just sends me the next chapter she'd already written. How many times do I Have to say "open your favorite book and look at any page, how many lines are in a paragraph? How many words describe and action or setting? How many paragraphs on that page have dialogue with setting and description in them?" I think she's getting better. I told her I didn't have time for a lot of chapters if she sent one every other week I might get to it because I'm writing a book in 100 days. |
