I used to review a Newbie every day, sometimes more than one. Sadly though, I've slowed down a lot, but I'm trying to get back in the habit again. I've probably reviewed 7 or 8 Newbies this month. As for encouragement, I always welcome them to the Community and direct them to "Noticing Newbies"  so they can get a feel for WdC and introduce themselves, as well as pointing them to Please Review Page and The Shameless Plug Page so they'll get more reviews for their pieces.As for taking one under my wing? Not necessarily, although I have worked with some a little more than others. I remember about a year or 2 ago we had a forum where we could receive a MB for reviewing 15 Newbies a month, much like "Anniversary Reviews" . I think that would go a long way to helping Newbies get more reviews and welcoming them into WdC! |
