Reviewing with River

My reviews are usually around 300 or 400 if the review has to be 250 count, but on Rivers or others where it says 1000 I write 1000 plus maybe another 10 . I write the review as best as I can and try to make each review different, without leaving out the details of important points, such as did it seem honest did I find anything to criticise and so on. I don't use a tem plate for the review, but I have a written one on a pad which I relate to. I do not give low ratings, but if it's so bad I don't review and I look at the author's portfolio and I put in a gentle suggestion. I think if you give a review with a one and a two star give the author a low esteem of themselves and the exercise is to encourage them to write better.
