Noticing Newbies

Hi, Lanyx (nice name!)

Nice to meet another world-builder who doesn't have a magic system. I'm no hand at all at map-making, but I love inventing new worlds, and new civilisations. My 'maps' though, consist of some blobs in paint.NET, with only the vaguest of markings.

I tend to start with the story, and imagine what sort of terrain would suit it - but with you, it sounds as though you start with the terrain and see what sorts of stories emerge from it. One of the things I love about writing is that these are both legitimate ways to come up with a world and events.

I look forward to seeing some of your work. Do you ever take commissions, or are all the maps you create from your own world? (just curious...)
