Reviewing with River

Since ZEN mentioned this I thought I'd ask. Is there a way that reviewing can be incorporated into blogging? Besides trying to get readers to post reviews, I wouldn't mind reading reviews of authors on a blog.
I do read reviews of books I plan to purchase. Maybe next month's topic is writing a book review for Amazon/Goodreads.
I may have mentioned this before. I almost bought a book but opened the 3 star review and found tucked into it a great number of responses agreeing with the review. I didn't buy the book.
Maybe when we review stories, we think of what book reviews are. Maybe post a review that might entice others to read the story, instead of a critique style "review."
Do any of you read the review page and chose a story someone gave a good review to read? Or saw a poorly reviewed story and thought maybe that author needed one that was more uplifting?
