When writing fiction, I strive for accuracy. That being said, when reading science fiction, I subscribe to the C. S. Lewis view of suspending disbelief. Authors build worlds that have their own rules of science. As long as the author stays consistent within the world they have built, I am okay with it and sit back and enjoy the journey.
