February Discussion Novel outline vs being a Panster
by River Author IconMail Icon
February 2020 Discussion Topic Novel outline vs being a Panster

What are the advantages (and differences) between writing an outline for a novel versus being a Panster (someone who writes 'by the seat of their pants' and lets the story write itself).

Personally, I'm currently Panster but I've also experienced the sorrow of not having an outline. I actually had to delete about 150 pages in one of my books once because I wrote myself into a corner!
