Reviewing with River

I started out as a panster but quickly learned I wrote myself into a corner too many times. I now make short outlines about the story and where I want it to go. Then I just start writing. I expand the outline as I go. So I’m part outliner part panster.

Now when I throw down a short story for a contest or an idea. I just write. My last contest entry was sadly lacking a motive and some back story. I have to do some editing now. Mostly just to practice editing
