GOALS: DIY MFA (2023.05.08)
by Tobber Author IconMail Icon
Last year, I focused a lot on quantity in my writing: making sure I wrote a little every day, producing new stories constantly. This year, I plan on focusing more on quality. There are a lot of things I need to improve in my writing, and to help achieve that, I've set up a sort of do-it-yourself MFA with writing and reading exercises. I've taken a break from this setup the last couple of week (due to holidays and a story that begged to be written), but this weak, I'm going to return to my exercises.

*Box* Comple at least one writing exercise every day: This is the big goal for me this weak. I have a list of exercise for the current focus area in my DIY MFA, and I need to do one of them every day. Also, I should make sure I have enough time and energy to really focus on the exercise when doing it, or it will just be wasted time.

*Box* Read and analyze at least one story from my reading list: I still have two stories I need to re-read and analyze for my current focus area. I don't expect that I'll have time to read both this week, but at least one of them should be doable.

*Box* Do a WYRM review: This a recurrent goal for me. I should review at least one chapter/story in the WYRM group.

*Box* Be active on the Codex Writers forum: Another recurrent goal. It's vauge, I know, but it's also my lowest priority, so it's always the one that I have the least time for. I need to remain active on the Codex forum.
