I always try to give to Wounded Warriors and I think they're a good organization that's pretty hands on with Vets and not that much admin costs. I also try to support Operation Gratitude. I used that when I was in the scouts. It's a great organization and the scouts were always enthusiastic to support them. Link: https://www.operationgratitude.com/ Lately I've given to the USS Hornet which is up in Alameda, CA. They have a bunch of older ships that they keep as living history exhibits. They have the USS Midway in San Diego and the USS Iowa here in San Pedro, CA. I the USS Massachusetts is in Fall River, MA. I think the Hornet was used to the get the Apollo astronauts when they landed off the coast. Here's a link to the hornet website: https://uss-hornet.org/ Here's a link to the Midway website: https://www.midway.org/ Mind you, I was Army. ![]() Here's an Army History site: https://armyhistory.org/ Here's a link to DVNF out of Milford, NH https://www.dvnf.org/ One last link to the Veterans History Project maintained by the Library Congress. https://www.loc.gov/programs/veterans-history-project/about-this-program/ Those are some of the ones I'm aware of. |
