I guess WDC members are a nomadic bunch. We wander from forum to forum congregating in "The 7/7 Forum" ... then moving on to "Steph Bee's Honey Pit " ... then perhaps to the "Weekly Goals" . Who know where the fickle members may land?
Then again, perhaps your post has sparked a resurgence here.
I've been busy with some other things here, including updating my YouTube blog and announcing contest winners. One of these days I'll get close to caught up.
Hi, Zen. I have been a writing.com member for years and only last week upgraded my membership and have been trying to become more active, like logging in and engaging more. I hope this message finds you well. Where are you from? What do you do for fun, other than write, that is?
Hello Destiny. I'm from England. By profession I'm a programmer, but I'm unable to work due to health issues. What else do I do for fun? I build worlds in OpenSimulator, which is a 3D virtual environment - the opensource version of Second Life. I run my own grid of (currently) ten regions. These consist of a private desert island getaway, a very large region for competitive sailing, a region in which I'm building a space station, another where I'm building an alien world.
My grid is connected to the HyperGrid, so my avatar can teleport to other grids and enjoy the worlds other people have built. It's all very inspiring. My forte is scripting. Everything you see in opensimulator worlds has been built by the people who inhabit it, and these things can be scripted so they can interact with the world, with avatars and with each other.
One group of people got together and made a story using NPCs (avatars without a human controlling them). When you visit their region, you sit on a chair and it takes you to a place where a scene is played out, then you are taken to the next scene and so on until the story is finished. Amazing.
