Phew. That was a busy week. So busy that I'm, once again, late with the update. Again, though, I managed to include the weekend in achieving my goals, so that's okay.
Also, while it was a somewhat stressful week, it was also a good one in many way. I got a fair deal of writing done and manage to work on both my writing-related and work-related goals this week. It wasn't a perfect week, but it was probably as close as I'll ever get.
Core Goals
Write, edit, or outline every day: Check. Did a writing exercise in the middle of the week, and besides that I was writing on new material every day (including Saturday).
Do Fantasticon preparation: I got some ideas for topics jutted down. Now I just have to polish them and send them out to the panelists.
Catch up on projects at work: Another success, and this was an important one. Me and my manage got around to defining my role at work more clearly, including which project I didn't need to be involved with, which really removed a lot of stress for me. I also manage to do about the amount of project work I had set out to do.
Eat healthy-ish: Sigh... No. There's probably not much I can do differently other than just suck it up and try to do better next week, but I keep missing this goal. Once again, by a wide margin too.
Stretch Goals
Do vocal exercises: Did one-two exercises per day as planned.
Get exercise: Giving myself double marks for this one. The goal was 2½ training/running sessions. I did almost twice that. It's been a long time since I've gotten that much exercise in a week, but I suspect that's part of why this felt such a good week. Plenty of sunshine, plenty of energy.
Do a review: Did a WYRM review. I had hoped to do more, but at least I did the minimum.
Start a new story: Maybe I should give myself double marks for this one, since I actually started two stories. Though, that's rarely a good thing for me. I need to focus. One of the stories are nearly done already, though.
Catch up on Codex: Yep. I got through all the relevant forum discussions. Though, I don't think I posted anything.
Post in my Codex author thread: Didn't get around to doing this. Then again, I never really expected I would.
Post on my blog: This was a low-hanging fruit as I had a post more or less ready. Still, I checked the post and sent it out, which still took some time.
Submit stories: I'll finish off by giving myself double checkmarks for this one. Not only did I manage to submit every story I'd stacked up, but I even got around to submitting one of them twice, since it's earned itself a speedy rejection from Interzone
