Well, Ms. Lilli ☕ In Germany there's NO speed limit on the Autobahn, and drivers drive like that. Here, though, there's a speed limit of 130 kmh / 80 mph, and when you drive like a German in Luxembourg that gets very EXPENSIVE, VERY soon (like everything in Lux, except COFFEE, gas, and pot). So, within my constraints here, I arrange, but am still pretty German: when I may drive 130/80 (my usual blood pressure on the road When someone "eumelt" along the right lane with less WITHOUT a valid reason (traffic slow/-ing), and I can't pass 'em because the cars on the fast lane are, HA!, faster, then I react pretty German: first, furious flashing. Second, yelling something along the lines of, "SCH*** nochmal, this is a bloody AUTOBAHN!!!! When you want to drive 30, WALK!" No, I'm not proud of it. But that acting out is restrained to the Autobahn. Overland, we have a speed limit of 90 / 55 (rather my normal blood pressure In Germany there are speed limits for overland – 100/60 – and in town – 30 to 50 / 20-30 – and you usually drive according to the richdom of the Bundesland you're driving in. If it's a rich Bundesland (like Bavaria, Hessia or Baden-Württemberg), you adhere to speed limits (see my explanation for Lux above). If it's not a rich Bundesland (basically the rest), it's up to you, BUT: if you get "geblitzt", DON'T tell me I didn't warn ya! Funny, driving in Europe, eh? |
