I'm curious if WDC still issues anthologies and, if so, whether there exists an archive of past editions?

Thanks for your help and your time.

I believe past anthologies were prepared by members for members and not by the site. I remember hearing of them when I first joined, but haven't seen any such activity for many years now.

Perhaps some of the older members (early 2000's) who are still active may have more to offer.

Thank you, Jace. I ask because I was clearing out old emails from my WDC account and found one from 2014 that mentioned the anthology from that year with a chance to preorder it. I didn't, and now I wonder if the whole thing may have been a scam or something. If it was/is real, I wouldn't mind being able to get my hands on some of them.

Again, appreciate your help.

I know Max Griffin 🏳️‍🌈 has "Tales from the Crosstimbers." Not sure of any previous anthologies

There were at least a couple of anthologies from my early years here. The ones I remember involved a single member on WDC announcing a call for stories. That member served as editor and publisher, although I don't recall any actual editing, just a "yes" or "no" about being in the anthology. It was then published on Amazon, and available for sale. I think this may have pre-dated Amazon's "Kindle Direct" publishing, which makes this fairly easy. No one got paid, except the editor, and the pay couldn't have been much as the sales probably didn't extend far beyond the contributors and, perhaps, a few of their freinds or family.

I'd be willing to consider doing a similar anthology, but with real editing, under the imprint of Crosstimbers Publications if there is interest and someone to help reading the submissions.

People on WDC are especially welcome to submit to Tales from the Crosstimbers. Our next open call is June 2. See
https://thecrosstimbers.online/open-call/

We've had at least two WDC members appear in the prior three issues.
