I agree thqat sometimes FLB's books can be kinda hard to read because of the bizarre fantasy-reality crossover element. The fairytale book I actually quite liked, but then, i adore afirytales so that's prob why. The 3 books I'd most recommend of hers are: The Hanged Man; it's excellent. Echo; great, sometimes hard to tell which character is speaking, but there's a distant, ancestrous kinda feel to it. Ecstasia/Primavera; absouletely stunning. It's set in a fun world of Elysia and old people are banished to Under and some people choose to escape and live in the Desert... It's like a metaphor for the superficial ways of LA, and the escapism, but barren world of the Nevada desert in a way. there's something about it; drugs, music, fair grounds, carnivals, death, prostitution, abuse, love, wonder... It's got so many raw emotions and it sucks you in. i like books that have that ability...
