Jeremy steps on Nick

As much as Nick tried to escape, he just couldn't. He already felt himself getting exhausted. Nearly all of his energy had been drained. And worse, Jeremy was just one step away from reaching him.

Nick couldn't run away. He knew that. So, in one final, desperate attempt to save his life, he got down as low as he could and curled up. Maybe his incredibly tiny size would prevent him from getting completely flattened, since he might end up between the ridges at the bottom of his shoe. He closed his eyes and pleaded for mercy right as Jeremy's foot prepared to crash into the ground, directly on top of him.
