Finally, Vanilla was done cutting ingredients. Tails couldn't see it from his current position though. He was sweating from heat and holding his breath. Any air that was left remaining under rabbit woman's reat ran out at this point. Tails' face tensed a lot as holding his breath was getting more and more difficult...
"Alright, time to cook." Vanilla said to herself, standing up. Unbeknownst to her, that small move of hers was very important for a small fox boy who remained on the chair.
Tails started breathing in and out, feeling relieved to finally have a fresh air. He just kept lying there, breathing and breathing. Vanilla, meanwhile, didn't notice him. She wasn't looking at the chair. Instead, she took out a mayonnaise and started putting cut ingredients into a big bowl, cooking a salad. Tails could hear Vanilla humming to herself.
"Phew. That was... dangerous." Tails thought, standing up, still under the impression of what he had to experience. "Good thing I was able to hold long enough. Note to self - no climbing on seats at this size. And don't tell anyone about this."
Using his tails, he slowly landed to the floor and hid behind one of the chair legs again. Tails watched as Vanilla mixed the ingredients with mayonnaise and soon stopped, looking at the bowl with satisfaction.
"It's done." Vanilla said with a smile before she heard the kettle boil. "Oh! Tea time!"
She turned off the fire and called: "Cream! Zooey! Tails! It's time for tea! Come over here!"
Tails then felt as if he snapped out of shock. He just remembered that he was playing with Cream and Zooey until Vanilla tells them to have tea. Tails realized he won. But at this point he was just feeling relieved that he's still alive.
Gradually, he flew up on top of the fridge and made a little noise, knocking on the glass of microwave that stood on it. Vanilla heard the noise and turned.
"Oh! Tails! Here you are!" Vanilla said with a smile, walking towards him. She then looked at him with concern. "Wait... you were hiding here this whole time, right?"
"How did you realize that?" Tails asked.
"You knocked on the glass of microwave the minute after me calling you three here. At your current size, it would have taken a long time for you to come to the kitchen on your own." Vanilla said, picking him up. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Ms, Vanilla." Tails smiled a bit awkwardly.
Then the footsteps were heard and Cream and Zooey entered the kitchen. "Mom! Have you seen..."
Tails turned and waved to them. "I'm here. I win."
Cream and Zooey looked at him in surprise. "Tails? Where were you hiding this whole time? We couldn't find you anywhere."
"I was here, in the kitchen." Tails admitted.
Zooey scratched her head and smiled. "And Cream told me she checked the kitchen. I guess you did hide really well. I admit it, Tails, you won!"
"I admit it too." Cream nodded with a smile.
Soon, Tails was returned to the size of 15 inches and was sitting at a table with Vanilla, Cream and Zooey. All four were eating a salad.
Vanilla suddenly stopped eating and looked at Tails strictly. Feeling her gaze, he stopped eating too.
"You know, Tails. You should have warned me that you're going to hide here. Without doing this, you did put yourself in danger. What if I stepped on you by accident?"
Cream and Zooey looked at Tails with worry.
"Or sat on me. Yeah, I figured that I really should have warned you." Tails thought before saying: "I'm sorry, I got carried away."
"The next time you play Hide and Seek at this size and in the room I'm in, be sure to warn me about your intention to hide there and where you will hide. I'm not going to give you away. I just want to make sure that I won't harm you by accident." Vanilla said with concern.
"Yes, you better do, Tails." Cream supported.
"I understand. I'll be sure to warn you next time." Tails said.
"Speaking of which, where exactly were you hiding?" Zooey asked.
"O-Oh, I was hiding... there. Behind that bag." Tails said, pointing at the huge bag of flour in the corner. "No way I'm telling the truth!"
"Good." Vanilla nodded. She soon calmed down and all four continued to eat.

"Thanks for salad and tea! They were really good!" Zooey complimented as she stood outside, holding a hand on her scooter. Vanilla, Cream and Tails were standing nearby.
"You're welcome." Vanilla nodded.
Zooey then looked at her little fox friend before telling him: "Be careful, Tails. I'll be sure to come visit you. If Vanilla and Cream don't mind, of course."
"Feel free to come visit us whenever you want. Tails' friends are our friends." Vanilla said with a smile.
"Thank you!" Zooey beamed before walking close to Tails and squatting down in front of him. She stroked his head and held her hand on his chin. "And thank you again, Tails, for fixing my scooter."
She leaned in and landed a kiss on Tails' cheek. The fox boy was looking at Zooey with a blush on his face.
"Y-You're welcome!" he said with a smile.
Zooey got on her scooter, started it up and waved. "Bye everyone!"
"Bye!" Tails, Cream, and Vanilla waved back, watching Zooey drive away.
