Felix nodded and turned to the cart and took the meat packet first.
"Um, do you have a name?" Felix asked as he approached her with the food. Fakira glared at him.
"Does he expect me to talk to get fed, like I'm some kind of pet? If I was my giant self, I'd show this human whose inferior. It can't boss me around just because I have no wings and I'm in chains. Mother said humans are food," she thought.
Felix was startled by the glare, and he quickly tried to explain himself, "I just wanted to know what to call you. My name is Felix." He saw Fakira smile an evil smile as he handed over the meat.
"Felix," she replied, "Don't ask me stupid questions worm." She flashed her sharp teeth before tearing into the meat. Felix, shaking a little, returned to the cart and put down the canteens of water near her.
"All right," Felix said, "But would you do something for me?" Felix tried to sound as little imposing with his question, otherwise it could land him in her stomach.
Fakira scowled at Felix. "What did I just say?" she asked darkly. Felix rose his hands quickly, shaking them.
"Wait please. Remember I said I wasn't meant to feed you just yet? If they find out I did, we'll both be punished," Felix explained quickly. Fakira said nothing except take another bite of food.
"So?" she asked arrogantly, while inwardly listening to the human. She didn't want to get beaten like that again.
"Continue crying for a bit and hide the canteens of water," Felix said, "That way if Lord William comes by. He won't realize you ate." Fakira thought on Felix's request.
"It's to my benefit as much as his. If I want to get out of here, focusing my energy to heal wounds takes away from healing my wings," she thought.
"Fine," she said, before draining at least to of the canteens of their water and focused her eyes on all the canteens. Felix was amazed to see all five shrink before him. "Inanimate objects stay small longer, even without wings," Fakira explained. However, the last bit was more of a growl as if she blamed Felix for the loss of her wings.
In a way Felix was right to fell Fakira was blaming him, because she blamed all humans. Because of everything her mother taught her about humans, Fakira felt as though all humans were the same. Humans were evil and insignificant beings that are too small to be much of anything except food.
"Okay, I'll be back later," Felix said heading to the cart. As he turned, he heard Fakira start crying again. Felix went to the door and knocked.
