Immediately, you crouch down, intent on observing these little people in greater detail. Your knees bend, their shadows expanding over the miniature landscape below you, encasing some of the people below in darkness. At this lower vantage point, you can more easily appreciate the details inherent to the little world, stone walls demarcating one field from another, country roads spread like a web from your perspective. On those roads, tiny vehicles race in a frenzied manner, and you notice that several have crashed, no doubt either during your arrival here. You realise it must be as confusing for these people as it is for you. One moment, life is normal, the next, a monolithic giant is towering over you and your people.
The thought does boost your ego. In this world, if it is anything like your own, you have no equal. No animal or creature could ever hope to match your superiority, a superiority that is based entirely on the size discrepancy alone. Even without any malicious intent, you have snuffed out at least one of these "humans" beneath your foot, along with their vehicle, compressed so thoroughly it may as well have been put through an industrial compressor. Observing these little people as you currently are, you estimate their size to be around 1 or 2 millimetres in height. If true, you may well be 1000 times greater in size than the tallest among them, if not more.
However, this is still unfamiliar territory. Even back home, a nuclear bomb could eviscerate a giant of your size, and who knows what weapons this tiny world could possess. It strikes you that you have no idea how similar this world actually is, whether it is an entirely separate planet, or a warped alternate reflection of Earth but at a tiny scale. The infrastructure looks remarkably similar to what you would find normally, albeit at a much reduced scale. But, as you scrutinise the farming equipment and small homes, you begin to see interesting variations. The machine do not appear to produce any exhaust, perhaps relying entirely on batteries, like the EVs that have become more commonplace back home. In general, the vehicles here tend to accommodate only 2 occupants, relatively shorter in length than most cars you know, save for luxury ones. In general, despite the overarching similarities, it does appear that this world holds unique aspects to it quite different from your own. You decide you need to get more information on this.
In order to achieve this, you needed to communicate with one of the denizens of this world. You're not sure if you would even be able to hear their words, but you aren't left with many alternatives. The crystal appears nowhere in sight, so you appear to be stranded on this world for the time being. You spot an awe-struck woman, standing on a small road, next to her strange vehicle. You decide that she would serve as your informant.
"Hello, little people", you announce, failing not to picture the micro populace as bugs in your mind. "I'm not quite sure how I got here, but I'll need some information on your world". You point at the woman in question. "I'm going to pick you up now, miss, and hold you up to my ear. Hopefully then, I'll be able to hear you, and we can figure this out".
Either seeing you point, or even understanding your proclamation, the tiny woman trips over herself, backing away your approaching fingers. Her frenzied reluctance to stand still irritates you, and you see her claw her car door open, trying to get inside. Instinctively, you quickly jut your hand out to grab her before she gets into the car. But your lack of knowledge over handling your new found stature displays itself in macabre fashion. Your fingers, too hasty to pinch the frail tiny woman between them, instantly compact her minute frame against the open car door. In less than a millisecond, her body implodes violently, crimson streaks staining your fingers. Just as quickly, you release your pinching fingers to observe, with a mixture of shock and annoyance, what has happened. The car door has been mangled, infused with the compressed viscera of your intended informant. You cringe at the sight, habitually wiping your fingers on your shorts, leaving a very small stain as all that remains of the woman.
This was not your intended outcome. But, if you were honest, it is not entirely unexpected. And the thought of so easily wiping out a human life with a mere pinch of your fingers, like you would an annoying ant....the thought, the power, is intoxicating. The truth was, you've always fantasised about acting out as a destructive giant. You had a rather large ego, and the fantasy of your physical size matching said ego was one of your secret desires. And here, through some working of the universe, the opportunity to indulge that desire. Sure, you wanted to throw caution to the wind, to make sure you tread carefully to ensure your safety. And you know morally it is wrong to treat these seemingly human creatures as with such callous disdain. But at their scale, it is almost impossible to see them as equal. Your mind races, torn between giving into your desires or controlling your impulses and trying your best to rectify your previous mistake.
