This choice: Decline - it's none of your business • Go Back...Chapter #36Prelude to the Deflowering by: Nostrum “I know you wanna help,” you tell her. “But this isn’t the right time.”
Jessica stares at you, eyes wide open. “Dave!”
“We barely know them. We should wait until we know them better. At least... get Ash’s thoughts on it – he knows Ally the best.”
“You know we promised we’d use the pens for good things.”
“I know.” You try to please her with a quick kiss. “But Ally needs to do some healing before that can happen.”
“She said she wanted to use me to learn about her brother. We could at least help her with Allen, no?”
You kiss her again. “Just let her do things her way.” You bring her to your front, admiring her naked beauty. “Think about it. If you let her wear you to meet her brother, she’ll owe you a big one. You could use it to... I dunno, let you help her with her family. Or if something more important happens on the way, you could--”
“Alright, alright...” She sighs, but feeling how her body relaxes, you know she won’t complain. (At least for now.) It’s amazing how being in this place, still flooded with the scent of weed, has made you connect to each other.
Perhaps it’s the magic of this place. Perhaps that’s why Ally and Ash love it.
--
“Alright,” Ally says, her makeup a bit ruined but recovered from her moment of despair. Ash’s outside, neutralizing the odors, while she’s making a little schedule. “I got Friday and Saturday free, but I’m gonna be doing a late shift on Thursday, so if you guys wanna use the beds--”
“I dunno,” Jessica resists. “What if Katie resists?”
“Let’s do nothing these few days,” your other companion ponders. “Stay with your sisters, act cool – Ash knows a couple pieces of gossip so you can always ask him for help, Dee – and on Thursday, try to convince them to stay with each other.”
“Yeah, but all of this so we can have sex?”
“Listen,” Ally says with a fierce pout. “You two did it as us, we did it as you, but you haven’t done it with each other. I want you guys to fuck each other first as yourselves before we start sharing.”
“I’m still not comfortable about sharing,” your girlfriend insists.
“I’ll ease it up for you. We’re gonna agree one day where Dee wears Ash, another where Ash wears Dee, and then it’s gonna be our turn – I wear you, you wear me. And then, finally, we fuck each other’s boyfriends. If after all that, you still don’t like the idea, we’ll respect it. That goes for both of you. Also, if one of you likes it but the other doesn’t, you owe it to yourselves to reach a compromise.”
You’re surprised how mature Ally has taken all this. Perhaps it’s because she was forced to, but she’s dealing with this with almost military precision. (Maybe a little too precise? You won’t say, though, because that might bring up her issues with her father.) “And what if we both refuse?”
“No hard feelings,” she tells you. “We can still be friends. You can still use the shack. Hell – you can still use us if you want to. Whatever makes you feel comfortable – but you have to make an effort to at least try. And I don’t wanna ruin your special time, so I won’t do anything unless you guys do it first.”
“Uh...” Jessica snickers nervously. “Thanks.”
“Now,” Ally says while grabbing a couple pills from a drawer. “Take this two days before having sex. The different-colored one is for minutes before.”
“These are...?” Your girlfriend gulps as she grabs them. “...contraceptives?”
“Mmhmm! Don’t want you guys to be parents that early.” She returns to the drawer, but takes nothing – just points at them. “Condoms are here. I got some flavored lube – safe for consumption but taste it just in case – and some regular one for when you want to penetrate. Those are my toys – don't use them unless you’re wearing me. And don’t worry about replacing it, but don’t abuse them. Cool?”
“Uh...” Jessica looks at you and grins nervously. “Yeah, cool.”
“Alright. I’m gonna tell Ash to hand you the keys and you’ll have my shack for yourselves until I get back. All I ask is that you don’t make too much of a mess. And don’t worry – I'm gonna tell Ash to stay clean these days so the stink goes away. You’re gonna get clean bedsheets and everything. No one’s gonna suspect “
“Cool.” You stand up, no longer as nervous that Ally or Jessica see you naked. You only shudder at seeing Ash, but he’s dressed and holds your clothes in hangers. “We should be heading home. Don’t want to worry anyone. Jess, you wanna go first or--?”
You feel a little pat on your butt cheek – it's Allison, grinning. “Why not take a bath together? Two birds with one stone.”
You look at Jessica, and she grins. And it’s not the kind of “should we do it?” but the kind of “why aren’t we doing this already?”
--
The day finally comes. Everything is running too smoothly, and you fear it’ll collapse, revealing it’s only a dream. But it’s the little details, the little imperfections, that tell you it will happen.
Like, for example, Claire’s interrogation when you arrived. It was too brief, too abrupt. “Where were you?” she asked. “I was with Jess,” you told her. “Where?” she insisted. “Don’t have to tell you,” you riposted.
And she took it on stride, only warning that Katie was suspiciously calm. She didn’t harass you the next day, and neither did Katie herself. The one who did was Jimmy, when Ashton appeared and patted you on the shoulder. And all because you asked him to catch up on you later. “What’s up with that?” he tells you.
“Oh, him? He’s gonna give me something later. No big deal.”
“I know that guy,” Trish tells you as she passes you by. “He was on the Track team. How d’you know each other?”
“We helped ‘em a few days ago – him and his girlfriend.”
“He’s gonna pass you some weed, right?” You’ve been leaving Jimmy aside for a while, so you chose to eat with his other friends – Drew, Jake, Bobby and Tommy, plus your mutual friend Eric – despite not being close to most of them. Tommy’s the one that made the comment. “He’s with the stoners in school.”
“I thought he wasn’t in school anymore,” Bobby remarks.
“The way he’s going,” Trish comments, “it’s a miracle he still is. He’s not bad, though – he took a bullet for Foreman.”
“Who?” Jimmy asks.
“Andrew Foreman.”
“Whoa...” Jake reacts. “The guy that got scouted to a really important university because of his track record?”
“Exactly. He likes weed too, and was about to get booted, when Kennedy took the blame. It’s a shame, though – Coach Pendleton wanted him to go for speed, but he’s built for endurance.”
If he only knew that...
“He fucked up his life ever since. I heard he’s dating some girl that dropped out.”
“She took her GED,” you remark. “Family issues.”
“What’s up with you two?” Trish asks, sensing a hint of jealousy in her tone.
“Like I told everyone – he owes me something, I’ll give it to him.” You feel your friend’s fiery stare and relent, but only so far. “He’s the guy that helped me get the scoop on what happened in Mackenzie’s party.”
Now you feel cold stares from everyone else. “What does he know?” “What’s that thing about something that happened in Mackenzie’s party?” “And what’s that about writing it on the newspaper?”
“It’s something about a misunderstanding between one of the cheerleaders and some kid. It’s on the newspaper – page 4, actually.”
“Oh.” The cold stares warm up as you clarify everything, but that doesn’t stop Trish from suspecting.
“I thought it’d be about the cheerleaders getting their panties robbed.” She looks at everyone in the table – including you – and inquires. “You don’t know anything about that, do you?”
As everyone stammers, you slip off, scot-free. “I wasn’t there. Everything I got was from Mackenzie and Ashton and the girl. By the way, I heard Mackenzie’s looking for whoever spiked the punch.”
You leave them chilled as you step away with your tray. Trish, however, doesn’t seem convinced. “Spill it. What happened?”
“I dunno. I heard about that from Mackenzie. She’s pissed.”
“You know something I don’t, David.”
“If I did,” you tell her, “I wouldn’t have written about those two, don’t you think?”

You text Ashton to meet you at the bathroom after the club meeting. You’re on your way to complete your story about Lovers’ Hill – with Ally’s help, though a downgrade after the bombshell of last week – and tell Ben, who’s on layout this week, about it. He promises it’ll be a half-page right at the middle. You also give Joanna another entry – one of Ally’s poems, to her friends still at school.
“This isn’t from a student, right?”
“She was,” you tell her. “Her boyfriend’s the guy that I interviewed at the McDonald’s.”
“Oh, yeah. You know I’m not supposed to, but I’ll make an exception this time. Better not have anything dirty.”
“I wouldn’t give you anything dirty.”
“Alright.” After giving your update, you move towards the bathrooms, texting Jess that you’ll get the keys from Ashton. Inside, he’s about to light a stogie when he notices you. “Hey, Dee!”
“Sorry about that thing during lunch time. Didn’t want them asking questions.”
“Got’chu, got’chu.” He hands you his keys, hunching closer. “Those were your friends, right?”
“Yeah.”
“There’s one of them that doesn’t like you.” Once again, his stoner sense kicks in. “The pudgiest one, not your prankster friend.”
He’s talking about Drew. As you recognize it, you grin. “Yeah. He’s jealous because Jessica’s my girlfriend.”
“Is he botherin’ you?”
“No,” you say, heeling him. “But if something happens, I’ll tell you. And...” You grip his keys tight. “Thanks.”
“Have fun!” he asks of you, and you rush away, ready to do the deed. You have the following choice: 1. Continue |
