As the beam struck Max he fell backwards onto the ground.

“Max are you okay?” May asked, rushing over to check on him.

“I’m fine May it just startled me.” Max said, waving his sister away.

“Why don’t we stop for a bit, not just for Max, we’ve been walking for a while and could all use some rest.” Brock offered.

“But my next fight.” Ash tried arguing.

“Ash Ketchum my baby sister needs a break and if you don’t let us take an hour you won’t make it to your next challenge!” May argued.

“Baby sister?” Max asked confused. “May what do you mean baby sister?”

“Sorry, I know you don’t like it when I call you that, I just got heated up.” May said apologetically.

“No, are you alright, I’m your brother, not your sister.” Max argued.

“Max did you hit your head?” May asked, walking back over and checking through his hair for a bump.

“Stop it May!” Max argued, trying to get her hands off of him.

“Oh relax I will brush it once I’m done, I’m just checking for any bumps or cuts.” May said, refusing to move.

“Maybe we should take a break, if Max isn’t feeling well she might start getting worse.” Ash said to Brock.

“I’ll start setting up lunch.” Brock said.

“Ash I don’t think Maxine is doing alright.” May admitted, walking over to him.

“That’s not my name!” Max argued.

“I know its going backwards but there was that small store we passed a bit back, I was thinking of going there to see if they might have anything to help, do you mind watching her while I’m gone?” May asked with concern.

“Yeah, go and maybe take her with you, save some hassle.” Ash offered. “Brock and I aren’t going anywhere.”

“Maybe.” May responded.
