Chapter #7Examine your new body, then find someone new by: MrMasterplan   "Are you quite sure you are alright, Pikachu?" said Fox with your old voice.
You looked down at the yellow-furred body that used to be yours, currently inhabited by Fox. Fortunately for you, it seemed that Fox was so focused on your wellbeing that he hadn't noticed the remote yet.
"Pika-Pikachu," you said in a reassuring tone while nodding, slowly moving your new hand to the side so that the remote was obscured from Fox's view by your new body.
"Okay, if you say so," said Fox. He turned around and began to move towards his room, which was the one straight across the hall from the one that you shared with Lucario. But, before he made it all the way there, he turned towards you again and said: "If you should need help anyway, I'll be right across the hall."
"Pika, Pikachu..." you replied nervously, while waving with your free hand, which used to belong to Fox.
Fortunately for you, Fox didn't notice your nervousness and continued to walk to his room, closing the door behind him.
With Fox out of sight, you decided to go back into your own room to examine your current 'situation' more.
It wasn't a long walk, since you had been standing right outside the door to your room, but it was still a bit difficult to get there.
While Fox's tail may have helped you to balance in your new body while you were standing still, the sheer length of your new limbs were throwing that balance off as soon as you tried to walk.
"Piiiika... Piiiiikaaa... Piiiikachu..." you cried out in worry with every shakey step as you were swaying back and forth, arms out to your sides, doing your best not to fall over.
"Piiiiika..." Another step. "Piiiiiiiiikaaaaaaaa..." You almost lost your balance there. "Piiiiiikaaa...chu!" One last step and it was done.
You'd finally made it to your sleeping quarters; a nice little 'nest' of pillows and soft fabrics, perfect for a Pokémon like yourself. Only, it was now much bigger, likely due to the fact that you now had the body of Fox McCloud and reality had changed slightly to match.
Very carefully, you placed the remote on the bed in order to make sure that it was safe. You then closed the door to your room, before placing yourself in front of the mirror.
Now; it might seem strange that a room occupied by two Pokémon would have a mirror in it, but it was a standard feature in all of the rooms for this upcoming tournament. Besides, it worked out well for you since you could better examine the change that you had made to yourself.
"Piiii-ka..." you said in awe. Even though you knew what you were going to see in the mirror, it was still rather surreal to see Fox's reflection instead of your own. In fact, everything about your new body felt strange to you.
Holding your now brown-furred hands in front of you, you took in how much different they were from your normal paws: much more dexterous and with long fingers, designed to give you a better grip on things.
As you opened and closed your new hands to get better used to them, you noticed just how long your new arms were. It was weird suddenly having your upper limbs be at least four times longer than what you were used to and you were astonished by how far you could now reach.
Using your new hands, you gently ran them across both of your arms and then your chest, in order to get a feel for your new fur. It wasn't unpleasant, but Fox's fur was certainly different from your regular Pikachu fur. It was nowhere near as soft as your old fur was, being much thicker and more dense, but you supposed that it would likely help to soften blows a bit easier because of that.
Moving on to examine your new torso, you were surprised at now having a body with a clearly defined chest and waist; at least compared to your old, somewhat stocky, Pikachu body.
You then looked further down to examine your new legs. Having genuine feet instead of hindpaws was odd enough, but it was the length of your lower limbs that truly made an impression on you. It was like you'd suddenly gotten a pair of stilts in place of your legs!
It was only then that you truly noticed just how high above the ground you actually were now. You felt like you were a giant now!
After finally examining your new tail as well, you took another look at your new reflection in the mirror.
"Pika-Pika...!" you said in awe with your new voice.
That was probably the strangest part about this whole thing; you were still talking in PokéSpeak, only now it was with Fox's voice! It was definitely disconcerting hearing his voice instead of your own every time you spoke. But, you were still speaking like you normally did, so...
"Pika!" you exclaimed in shock as a worrying thought came to you: Now that you had Fox's body, would you be unable to use your electrical attacks?!
You quickly turned towards the the training dummy that you shared with Lucario.
"Pika, Pika!" you said as you attempted to charge up.
"Piiiiikaaaaa...!!!" You fortunately felt the familiar surge of electrical power wash over you, but you weren't done quite yet.
"Piiiiikaaaaa...CHUUUUUUU!!!" Letting loose with your stored energy, you successfully sent a Thunderbolt into the dummy, knocking it down like you had done many times before.
"Pika..." you sighed in relief. It seemed that it was only your physical body that had been exchanged with Fox; you were still a Pikachu in every other aspect, including your Pokémon moves.
You turned to look at the remote on your bed, marveling at the kind of power it contained.
"Pika-Pika?" you said, wondering what else you could do with it. You really wanted to go out and use it again, but there was one thing you had to do first: learn how to walk properly in your new body.
Sitting down on your bed, being very careful not to sit on the remote, you first slowly lifted your new legs up and down so you could get a feel for how they moved.
Once you felt comfortable with the your new legs, you got up from the bed and began to take some more steps with them.
At first, you still needed to hold out your new arms at your sides in order to keep your balance, but it wasn't long before you could move naturally on your long legs.
"Pi-ka, Pi-ka, Pi-ka, Pi-ka," you said as you walked around the room a couple of times without swaying or shaking at all.
Eventually, you ended up in front of the mirror again, looking once more at your new reflection.
Now that you had gotten used to it, you had to admit that you really liked having Fox's body! You enjoyed being so tall! You were pleased with your longer reach and dexterous fingers! You were happy with having an athletic and powerful frame!
You couldn't resist making a superhero pose in front of the mirror, showing off Fox's muscles that you now had!
"Pi-Pikachu!" you happily exclaimed with a big grin on your foxy face. Your new body was amazing!!!
In fact, you were starting think that you should keep the body! At least until the end of the tournament; you didn't want to take someone elses body permanently, but you certainly wanted to spend as much time in this body as possible.
"Pika-chu!" you said with determination as you made your decision. Fox could have his body back at the end of the tournament, but for now, this was YOUR body; not his!
You still wanted to see what else the remote could do, though. If you kept swapping with Fox, it would eventually get boring, so you decided to try out the remote on the first other Smasher that you saw.
Picking up the remote and the manual from your bed, you then left your room and began to make your way down to the common room.
As you were walking with a big, cheesy grin on your face, you began to think about what kind of swaps you could make with your eventual target.
You didn't want to try out Body Swap right away. Yes; you DID want to try out other bodies eventually, but you REALLY liked having Fox's body!
You weren't really sold on a Life Swap either. You may have an amazing new body, but you were also still a Pikachu. You didn't want to try out a different life, too; at least not yet.
A Head Swap would probably be out of the question for now as well. Sure; you would get to keep your new head, but you would also get a brand-new body instead! And honestly, you didn't want to give up your new body anytime soon.
The Clothes Swap option seemed to be the most practical. Yes; as a Pokémon you'd never worn clothes before, but you guessed that you could get used to it.
It would certainly help to have pockets or something to keep the remote safe. You had to be very careful not to drop it right now, simply holding it in your hand. You didn't want to drop it and swap something with someone without being aware of it!
Gender Swap might be possible, if the first Smasher you encountered was a girl. You'd get to keep your new body, but explore it from the other side of the gender fence.
Relationship Swap was more than doable. Being a Smash veteran, you were well versed in the relationships of your fellow Smashers, so it was likely that you could deal with that.
Of course; all of that depended on exactly who you would encounter first.
It wasn't long until you spotted a figure down the corridor that you were now in.
"Pika! Pikachu!" you called out in greeting and hurried up to them.
