"Morning, farm girl" waved star reporter Lois Lane. Claire waved back with a smile.
Lois had sort of taken Claire under her wing at the Daily Planet, much to Claire's appreciation. The more experienced Lois probably saw her as something of a lost kitten in the big city. And despite Claire's amazing super abilities, she found herself occasionally intimidated by the world of women. Granted, Claire played up her nervousness for the sake of her secret identity. But even heroes got anxious sometimes. And nothing was better at inducing anxiety than a workload.
"You finish your article for tomorrow's paper?"
Claire shook her head. "Just one more paragraph before I can send it to the editor..."
Lois tisked slightly. "Always looks better to the boss if you have your work ready as soon as you come in the office."
"I didn't have the time, the meeting dragged on for hours. I crashed at my computer." Claire sighed. "Do you really think Mr. White will be upset?"
"Relax farm girl. He's too busy for that. Just finish it up and send it to the editor." Lois sat down easily. "You really need to destress yourself. You're a bundle of nerves."
"I just want to do a good job..." Claire fiddle with her hair with faux-nerves.
Lois thought carefully before a grin crawled up her face.
