This choice: 1. Cheaters Never Prosper • Go Back...Chapter #5Raiden Wins... But Sindel Is Not Impressed by: Sly F At first, there was a smile on his face as Raiden looked down at his fallen opponent, General Shao, writhing in agony on the garden floor. He was the champion of Mortal Kombat. He'd proven himself as the chosen protector of Earthrealm.
He stood up straight, fists held high in the air in victory.
It was only then that the loud booing from the crowd registered in his ears.
The princesses Kitana and Mileena were staring at his with looks sharper than the bladed fans and sais they respectively carried. Sindel sat on her throne, face contorted in anger, one thumb pointed down at the ground.
General Shao always looked angry, but he was especially furious as he picked himself back up from the ground.
Even the faces of Raiden's fellow Earthrealm fighters and his mentor and patron god, fire lord Liu Kang, looked at him disapprovingly.
With one ear-splitting screech, Empress Sindel silenced the entire arena.
"DISQUALIFIED!" she bellowed.
Liu Kang, stoic as ever, calmly asked, "On what grounds?"
Sindel descended from her throne and marched quickly to Liu Kang.
"Your champion has done nothing this entire tournament but sweep the legs out from under his opponents over and over consecutively."
"That's not true," Liu Kang insisted. "He did other moves."
Sindel was still furious.
"There was one round where he did nothing but jump kicks instead. And there was the occasional uppercut."
One voice in the crowd yelled out "TOASTY!" Sindel called for silence with another shriek.
"I thought you selected this boy as your champion because he was pure of heart and skilled in martial arts. But all he does is spam cheap moves over and over like a simple noob."
"Noob," Bi-Han said, stroking his chin thoughtfully in the crowd. "I kinda like that. Has a nice ring to it."
"Raiden did whatever it took to defeat his opponents," Liu Kang said. "Technically, those moves are not illegal."
"But we had an agreement," Sindel said. "We banned just using the same lazy moves over and over. It's no fun for the other fighters to play against. And it's no fun for the spectators either."
The crowd roared in agreement. Even Liu Kang had to look down in shame for his selection of a fighter.
"I gave you that lightning amulet, and you didn't even try to use it," he muttered.
But Sindel's angry scowl finally twisted into an evil smile, one that sent a chill down Raiden's spine.
"Explain to him what it means," Sindel said.
Liu Kang forced himself to look Raiden in the eyes.
"Since your performance in Mortal Kombat has brought disgrace to the tournament, you must remain here in Outworld as the royal family's indentured servant until you can redeem yourself in the next tournament."
Raiden looked at Liu Kang in shock.
"But the next tournament won't take place for another generation!"
Liu Kang put a reassuring hand on Raiden's shoulder.
"Fear not," he said. "Time works differently here in Outworld than it does in Earthrealm. The next Mortal Kombat tournament will be here before you know it. In the meantime, practice your fighting whenever you can. Learn how to do some special moves. Maybe even how to chain together some multi-hit combos."
Raiden was immediately hauled away to do whatever menial work the Empress and her daughters required at the royal palace. Days went by, and the only thing to keep Raiden going was the occasional postcard from Johnny Cage, addressed "To my best fan."
Well, that wasn't the only thing keeping him going. Truth be told, Raiden's new mistresses weren't hard at all on the eyes. The princesses Kitana and Mileena, with their voluminous dark hair, lovely almond eyes, full pink lips, and skintight blue and purple leather armor. And the Empress Sindel herself, with her petite but powerful body, white and black hair, and purple and black tight dress.
The one thing that may have detracted from their beauty was the way they treated him. While they had been charming and gracious hosts welcoming him to their realm and their tournament, the way they treated him as the "noob" that had brought dishonor to the fight was quite different. They stuck their noses up at him, never let him forget they were his mistresses and he was their servant, and even called him degrading names like "Kid Thunder."
That might have detracted from their beauty. Maybe for other men. But Raiden soon discovered that wasn't true for him.
The first time, after Mileena had all but literally chewed him out for the way he handled her garments, he'd questioned his half-chub. But it soon became hard to deny. The more these women degraded him, the crueler their abuse, the harder it made his raging erection.
One day, he was on his hands and knees, scrubbing the palace's impressive marble floors, when he suddenly realized he wasn't alone. He looked up and saw her, looking at him with such intensity that he was on his feet immediately. She soon had him backed into a corner.
