April was your typical spoiled
rich girl in spite of having just
turned 9 recently.
One thing’s for sure is that if a rich
girl wants something bad enough,
she would usually get it instantly!
That may be the case for April,
a nine year old rich girl, who was
just nothing but a spoiled brat,
always getting what she wanted
and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
That was until her parents forced
her into public school in hopes it
would change her.
She started getting denied more
much to her displeasure.
Imagine her horror when for a
science class project she was
teamed up with a genius nerd.
April eventually found herself
at his house in his garage turned
lab. At 1st April thought she’d regret
it being with Nerdy Ned the science
geek but still he’d at least help her
get an A+ if nothing else.
However her visit would take a
turn.
Ned took out a toy gun looking
thing with some kind of bulb on
the front and began explaining it.
Now April on top of being a
rich spoiled brat was particularly
smart or attentive as he began
explaining the “Transposer”
a device that used a mix of light
and various technologies to
manipulate targets.
Ned could tell he was losing her
so he finished with
“In short it can make things bigger
or smaller. So far I’ve run limited
tests on making things smaller and….”
Suddenly it clicked for April.
She wasn’t super short but
she had been the shortest kid
in class somehow.
She walked up to where Ned was
sitting and grabbed him by the
shoulders
“Did you say make things bigger?”
“Well yea in theory but I’ve only
been testing making them smaller”
“Forget smaller! Use your toy to
make me bigger”
“I’m sorry what? Are you insane?!
It hasn’t been thoroughly tested yet
and I dunno the side effects on….
April cut him off
“Listen here I’m tired of being
the class runt and being told no
at the trash heap of a school and
you said this thing can do something
daddy can’t which is make me
bigger”
“But I err I mean the testing
and it would be unethical and….”
April’s grip suddenly got shockingly
tight
“I’ll make this simple Neddy
succeed in making me taller and
I’ll use my family’s money to
get you anything you want.
Refuse or fail and you’ll see just
how much worse life can get for
a family of poor people”
At this point April looked ready
to kill and her grip was unbelievable.
Ned gulped.
The threat was bad enough but add
in the temptation of potentially
getting anything he could want.
“F-fine but you gotta keep your
word and keep the device a secret!”
“DEAL!
NOW UN SHRIMP IFY ME!!”
She released her grip.
“Okay stand over there”
Ned pointed.
April gleefully complied dreaming
of being the tallest girl in school.
Ned adjusted the device, set it on
GROW, pointed and pulled the trigger.
A glow of light emitted from
the bulb of the front enveloping
April. She felt strange, tingly,
warm, energized, and oddly good
but soon frowned.
“Hey it’s not doing anything!
What gives?!”
“I uh told you I hadn’t testing
on living people let alone the
GROW Setting! Maybe it’s a Dela….
April didn’t wait for him to finish
and approached mad still being
fired upon.
She yanked the device from his hands!
“You lied and tricked me you
Nerd of a turd! I should’ve known
this wasn’t gonna work”
She raised her hand
“Wait no don’t”
Ned was too late as she smashed the
device on the floor!
A brighter wave of light and energy
briefly envelops her then
fades as she stomps it!
“Nooooo 8 months of hard work
Down and now our A plus
Down the drain”
“Stupid dumb fake lying nerd
And dumb fake crackpot science”
said April as she kept stomping
the device to pieces pissed she
as far as she knew hadn’t gained
a single inch in height.
April then stormed off somewhere
as Ned laments his device
now in dozens of pieces.
On her way out April feels a
little strange but shrugs it off.
