A peculiar, background hum sounded all around you as you awoke, a sound which seemed vaguely familiar to you. But in your drowsy state, you couldn't quite place it.
The moment you opened your eyes, you realized you were not at home like you expected to be. Instead, you were on some kind of sprawling floor which you didn't immediately recognize. What you did know was that there was an orange glow all around you. Looking around and upwards, your jaw hit the floor.
Now you knew exactly where you were. You were on the set of one of your favorite TV shows: Doctor Who. And you were on a colossal recreation of the Thirteenth Doctor's TARDIS console room.
Why on earth they had decided to create such a monolithic replica, you didn't know. Looking to the side, the nearest crystallized pillar shot upward to the ceiling like a skyscraper. And in front of you, a truly gigantic version of the TARDIS console, looking identical to how it did on TV, the familiar hexagonal shape made of metal, with an enormous, orange-glowing crystal in the center to serve as the time rotor.
A strange sound started up nearby, and it was getting closer. It sounded like quickened footsteps, but amplified like crazy. In fact, you could now feel the floor quaking slightly.
You were in for the shock of your life as a woman skidded into view. It wasn't just the fact that you recognized her as none other than the Doctor - with a blond bob, dressed in her usual costume of blue high-waisted culottes with yellow braces, a navy blue t-shirt with a rainbow stripe across it, a lilac-blue trenchcoat with a hood, brown lace-up boots, blue socks and piercings on her left ear - but there was a unique feature which made you realize that perhaps this wasn't a gigantic recreation of the TARDIS set as you had assumed.
She was gigantic! And considering that giants weren't real (to your knowledge), there was only one explanation. As insane as it was, it did appear that you had shrunk to a mere few inches tall.
"So, next stop, the Eye of Orion! Nice spot to relax, oh, it'll be lovely!" she ranted entirely to herself as she busied herself around the console, pressing buttons. It was very odd that she was playing the role of the Doctor despite there being no crew and no cameras around.
Of course, being tiny and on the floor while an energic giantess dashed about wasn't the safest environment. Luckily (or unluckily, considering you couldn't be too careful), you soon caught her eye, the woman pausing mid-ramble.
"What's that?" she questioned herself, letting go of her grip on the console and striding over. You gasped as she reached you, too frozen to the spot in fear to get out of the way as she stood over you, hands on her hips. "Is that?" she asked herself as she squatted down and reached her fingers out to coil around you, gently straightening herself back up. You were now held within her grasp, as you were taken up on what felt like a smooth elevator ride with how careful she was being.
Her pool-sized eyes widened, her mouth parting with shock as she gasped.
"Ahh!! You are a tiny person! Hi tiny person! Brilliant!"
"H-h-hi," you stuttered, your head spinning from the insane predicament you'd found yourself in. This surely had to be some sort of crazy, incredibly lucid dream.
"Aw, don't be scared," she closed her mouth to form an encouraging smile, which oddly made you feel at ease almost immediately. "I'm not gonna hurt you. Am I being rude picking you up without introducing myself?" she pondered. "I am, aren't I? Soz, I'm a bit socially awkward, but people seem to like me, so its fine! Anyway, I'm the Doctor. What's your name?"
As you gave your name, you watched her smile grow.
"That's a lovely name. I'm not saying you're not welcome, but I am a bit miffed that you beamed yourself on board my TARDIS without an invitation. Even I know that's rude. So are you normally this small, or did you get hit by a miniaturisation ray?"
This was even more insane than you first thought. Not only were you shrunken, but it was becoming increasingly obvious that this wasn't the set of a TV show. The TARDIS, the Doctor, they were completely real. And you were on board with her.
"I don't know," you shook your head. "I just woke up here, no idea how I got here or how I got so tiny. Can you restore me back to normal, Doctor?"
"Hmm, let me see. Best close your eyes for this, won't hurt a bit, promise." You did so, feeling a little bit of turbulence as the Doctor shifted to grab something. A moment later, you heard the loud, familiar buzzing of the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver. The titanic object was so close the noise was almost ear-splitting. "Hmm, nope. None of the readings the Sonic is giving me has any clues what happened to you." The Doctor paused before exclaiming, her face lighting up in an excited grin." Ah, hey! Why don't you come with me, and we'll try to figure out a way to get you back to normal? Does that sound good?"
You agreed. After all, what choice did you have? But even so, if this was the living, breathing Time Lord, then you knew you had nothing to worry about. She would be kind and keep you safe, no matter what.
What happens next?
