The rain has stopped, leaving the street wet and quiet. You unlock the door and step outside, pulling it shut behind you. The air is cold enough to sting your cheeks, but somehow your body doesn’t mind.

Your sneakers slap lightly against the pavement as you head down the block. You can feel the warmth from the injection still radiating under your skin, even with the night air cutting across you. Each step feels… deliberate, like your muscles are just a little more eager to respond than usual.

Halfway to the corner, you notice your stride’s changed — not much, but enough that your hips roll with a bit more confidence, your arms swinging wider. You feel… heavier in a grounded way, like the ground pushes back harder with every step you take.

You glance at the dark glass of a storefront. Same height, same clothes, but something in the way your shoulders sit — higher, more squared — makes you stare a second longer than you meant to.

A car passes, its headlights washing over you. The reflection in the window looks… sharper. Not huge changes, but your neck looks thicker in the glare, your jawline catching more shadow.

By the time you reach the far corner, your breathing’s deeper, steadier. You roll your shoulders, and the movement feels smoother than it should after a long night at work. There’s a hum in your chest that isn’t going away, a quiet but insistent energy building under the surface.

The city’s empty enough that you could do anything out here — no one to see if you push this new feeling, no one to stop you if you go further.
