You were getting off the train and had just gotten off from school, feeling extremely tired. But that’s when you notice someone get off on the train across from yours. She looked oddly familiar, and you realized she looked pretty similar to you.
She suddenly looked up and saw you, and instant recognition crossed her face. You both ran to each other, surprised.
“H-hey… you don’t happen to be Stan… do you…?” She said shyly.
You wonder how she knew your name but nod: She stared at you for a moment, and her eyes widened as you confirmed that you are Stan. She seemed to be in disbelief.
“Wait… you can’t be serious. You’re an actual guy….?” She said in slight shock.
You nod again, wondering about the strange words of this girl, who continued looking up at you. She seemed a bit embarrassed now.
“Ah… sorry. It’s just… you look so much like me… and have the same name, I just thought you were an alternate universe version of me that was… a guy.” She explained, looking up at you with wide eyes.
You told her that this was nonsense.
“Yeah, you’re right, it definitely is. It was stupid of me to expect something like that to be possible. I just… I don’t know, the resemblance is really uncanny, you know?”
She noticed you studying her closely and fidgeted uncomfortably, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She was clearly a bit self-conscious under your gaze, and the fact that you were studying her didn’t help.
Anyhow for some strange reason there was a striking resemblance between the two of you, both in appearance and mannerisms. It was definitely strange seeing a female version of yourself standing in front of you.
As you asked her for her name, she seemed a bit surprised at your question but answered after a moment.
“It’s… Kasumi. My name is Kasumi.” She said, still a bit nervous and slightly flushed by how closely you were looking at her.
As you asked her where she is from, she looked up at you with a slight hint of hesitation, as if considering whether to answer or not. But then she relented and responded.
“Uh… I’m from an alternate universe. It’s… a bit hard to explain, but I basically crossed over into this universe somehow. It was completely by accident, I swear… I just kind of stumbled through a portal and ended up here.”
