This choice: Jaden makes another wish right now • Go Back... "So; this 'Wishing Stone' actually works. Who would have guessed?" said Jaden, excited at the possibillities.
"Although, just transporting someone from one place to another seems a little basic," he figured. "Maybe I should make a bigger wish, just to see how powerful it really is. But, what should I wish for?"
While Jaden was contemplating his second wish, he suddenly spotted a Duel Monsters card on the ground.
"Huh. I guess someone must have dropped this," he said to himself as he picked it up. Turning it over, he saw that it was the card 'Twin-Headed Behemoth'.
"Hey, wait a sec..." said Jaden. He'd just gotten an idea. "That's it! A good way to test out the power of this stone!"
Quickly putting the card in one of his pockets, Jaden then made his second wish.
"I wish to have two heads!"
Right as he finished his wish, Jaden began to feel quite dizzy. So much so that he had to shut his eyes to keep himself from vomiting.
While keeping his eyrs closed, Jaden suddenly felt a very bizarre feeling in his body. It only lasted for a few seconds before vanishing.
"What just happened?/What just happened?" mumbled Jaden. Then he noticed something odd. "Hey! Why does my voice sound like an echo?!/Hey! Why does my voice sound like an echo?!"
Jaden opened his eyes again and got another shock: he was looking out of two perspectives now!
"No way... It can't be.../No way... It can't be..." Jaden said in disbelief.
He tried looking to the right. From one perspective, he saw the edge of the cliff that the Slifer Red Dorm was situated on; from the other, he saw the back of his head.
Then Jaden tried looking to the left. This time, one perspective was looking at the outside wall of the dorm and the other... was looking at the back of his head...
"No way!/No way!" Jaden said again. "Don't tell me that.../Don't tell me that..."
Still having slight doubts, Jaden tried something that would normally be impossible: looking both right AND left at the same time! It took a bit of concentration, but somehow he managed it and what he saw dispelled all remaining doubt from his mind.
Jaden was now looking into his own face from both perspectives! It was almost like looking in a mirror; exept that he could control both sides!
Looking down and seeing only one body underneath both faces further confirmed it.
"I... I don't believe it!/I... I don't believe it!" said the shocked Jaden. "I really have two heads now!/I really have two heads now!"
Jaden turned his two heads upwards again to see his own face from both perspectives once more.
"This... is... AWESOME!!!/This... is... AWESOME!!!" he exclaimed, a big grin plastered on both of his faces. "I actually have two heads! This is so cool!/I actually have two heads! This is so cool!"
It was then that Jaden finally became aware of a slight 'side-effect' of having two heads.
"Whoa... I'm talking out of both mouths at once, too!/Whoa... I'm talking out of both mouths at once, too!" he realized. "That explains why my voice sounded like an echo/That explains why my voice sounded like an echo."
Jaden looked himself over again. "I really need to find a mirror/I really need to find a mirror," he said. "I want to see what I look like now!/I want to see what I look like now!"
Jaden suddenly paused and frowned slightly. "But first, I should try and find a way to stop speaking with two voices at once/But first, I should try and find a way to stop speaking with two voices at once," he noticed. "It's getting a bit annoying/It's getting a bit annoying."
But it wasn't exactly a walk in the park.
"Maybe like this? No.../Maybe like this? No..."
"How about... Darn it!/How about... Darn it!"
"Maybe if... Oh, COME ON!!!/Maybe if... Oh, COME ON!!!"
Jaden tried several more times to talk with just one head, but without success.
"This is getting ridiculous/This is getting ridiculous," complained Jaden. "I like having two heads, but I can't stop talking completely in synch with both of them!/I like having two heads, but I can't stop talking completely in synch with both of them!"
He sighed in disappointment.
"Maybe I should just use the stone to go back to normal.../Maybe I should just use the stone to go back to normal..."
All four of Jaden's eyes widened in surprise.
"What a second... What am I saying?!?/What a second... What am I saying?!?" he shouted, outraged at himself.
"That would be the same as giving up!/That would be the same as giving up!"
He clenched his fist.
"I can't give up!/I can't give up!" he declared. "If I want to be the next King of Games, then I can't quit! No matter what kind of challenge I face!/If I want to be the next King of Games, then I can't quit! No matter what kind of challenge I face!"
For once, Jaden actually took a moment to think about things.
"Let's see.../Let's see..." he muttered. "I was able to get my heads to look at each other by concentrating/I was able to get my heads to look at each other by concentrating."
"So; maybe.../So; maybe..." Jaden wondered, having gotten an idea. "Well; couldn't hurt to try/Well; couldn't hurt to try."
Once again, Jaden closed his eyes and began to concentrate; only this time, he was focusing on speaking.
"Maybe if I... concentrate... hard.../Maybe if I... concentrate... hard..." he groaned with effort, "I might be.../I might be..."
"...able..."
"...to..."
Jaden eyes opened wide in surprise. "Whoa! Did that just happen?!/Whoa! Did that just happen?!" he exclaimed.
Jaden took a moment to compose himself before continuing.
"Okay. One more time!/Okay. One more time!" he said.
"Concentrate on... talking.../Concentrate on... talking..."
"...through just..."
"...one mouth..."
"...at a time..."
Jaden's eyes widened again.
"It's working!/It's working!" he accidentally exclaimed through both mouths again, before correcting himself.
"I mean; it's working!" he said with his right head before continuing with the left. "It does require a bit of concentration."
"But, maybe with more practice..."
"I'll be able to do it..."
"...flawlessly!/...flawlessly!" Jaden had alternated between his heads when saying that, but he had also accidentally said the last part with both heads.
It didn't go unnoticed by him.
"Okay; so I need a LOT more practice," he said with his left head this time, before continuing with his right. "But, at least I know I'm on the right track."
Jaden grinned with both faces again.
"Alternating between heads when speaking is fun!"
"Even if there is an occational..."
"...slip-up.../...slip-up..."
"...it still feels awesome!"
Jaden looked at the stone he was still holding. The power it had was incredible! Jaden now had two heads and, appearently, everyone else would think that this was perfectly normal!
The question now was: what to do next?
To be honest, Jaden was starting to feel a little tired from all of the excitement. However; he wasn't so tired that he felt like just keeling over and sleeping.
He could probably muster up an extra wish if he wanted to.
Jaden thought about what was best to do. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
