 Hi Island Girl. Happy Earth Day!  The title caught my eye as I was fascinated by the idea of season for manatee.  I don't know much about them and this poetic tribute is interesting as well as vivid in description. I felt the appreciation of the poet for these creatures and the voice used as if you are speaking to them is quite effective and gives it a more personal approach.   enjoyed reading this aloud for its luscious language and vivid images of both the manatee and its ocean home. Ideas like "airbrushing", "polished sea glass" are evocative and your comparisons are awesome. I liked the contrast in image and sound quality of gentle "seasway" with the "brutal cuts and scar" . The sound scapes of the language really added to the drama and clarity of the topic. Well woven! *mountaing*The poem is freestyle without pattern rhythm and while a few lines are longer thatn others the flow was smooth and suited the theme of movement. You take us gently on the journey through the year with the manatee and its habits and habitat and I think even children would enjoy learning about this creature is such a poetic way.  I noticed the change in tenses! Good job with the tenses too as you go from past to present and into future spring. It was easy to follow. I like how you got the "sea cow" name in there.  I like the welcoming " sandy arms" too. The picture on the page really sets off the page and topic and gives us the real picture of this odd looking creature.Thank you for sharing your tribute to the lovely manatee.
