HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews"

What an amazing account! I bet if I were to pick a single year in my life, I wouldn't find anything this interesting, life-changing, touching, wonderful and sad to report. I liked how you started with the New Year's resolution to make some changes to your life, and it seems that the beginning went pretty much as you planned. Your retirement party sounded lovely and it must have been great to have your family involved as well, not just work colleagues. After thirty years, it seems that they gave you a fitting farewell and I bet you felt very special with all the wonderful attention.

But then it seems like real life overtook your plans a little, although visiting your son was planned, seeing him undergo life-saving heart surgery probably wasn't. I can't begin to imagine how distressing it must have been to leave him while he was still recovering, and how hard it must have been for you to know that he was angry at you for leaving. I'm glad that it all turned out all right, although I assume it was a very painful time for you. It was nice though that you got to visit some of the places that he and his wife had fond memories of before he had to have the surgery because that way, they are now part of your happy memories, too.

I always find it intriguing to read how other members found Writing.Com and how it influenced them. It's great to see that you are still enjoying the site after so many years, and this seems an appropriate point to wish you a very happy account anniversary and many more years of writing! I also hope that you are going to make a speedy recovery from your eye surgery; my thoughts and best wishes are with you.
