Hello Elysia
This is a lovely piece of advice. I think it needs refinement , control and a sense of consideration to pay more attention to the creative spark than to an occasional grammar slip.
"Despite the mislaying of one brick, one can step back to view an entire wall and sense the mason's vision of his pattern."
The metaphors you use describe this situation are par excellence.
I came across some critics who painstakingly point our every single slip in the static item.It is as if they are looking down their perfect noses at the world below. If I were to take everything seriously, then I wouldn't dare put my pen to paper.
I love the language and style in this article. This is truly an object lesson as to how to go about writing. I am going to file it away.
Thank you for sharing.
