| Memories of Past When memories of our past come to haunt us. They are not always bad. |
| {eAn "OPEN HOUSE" What brought me here The warm holiday feeling reflected in your cover photo and evocative title swept me right here on first entering your port. What kept me here The introductory paragraph hooked me into staying. "Yes!" treasured memories are unwrapped over and over again during the Christmas time of year. The personal revelations of this short story turned it quickly from a wishful reminiscence into something deeper every reader will find capturing their heart. What I liked best A well-woven tale builds on an earlier image which grows later on in the tale. Going through hard times together wouldn't have been the 'present' I expected to be shared with your seasoned tale. I was openly marveling by the time I finished reading. Not a word was left unpolished and put into the exact place it was needed. No extra fluff just for fluff sakes only we authors enjoy distracted my reading flow. Well done, author. My favorite sentence was "It's not the amount of money you spend, it's the time you spend with them that counts." Now that's a present we can all take with us and share every family holiday left to us. <applause, stomping of feet, wild and crazy cheers> What could be improved Nary a thing. Thank you for sharing this holiday experience with us. We will all be the better for having you post this. Summary A deeply moving and personal experience that should wiggle its way into the published world in some holiday magazine if it hasn't already.
