Greetings, Nightingale!
This is cool. I love your haunting prose as you were originally so scared you didn't even want your toes to show outside of the covers (sounds a lot like 10 year old me after I saw Jaws for the first time!

), and to go and see a picture of your demon that informs you that it could be a protector of young women was a major flip.
It's not often that I see a spooky tale like this wind up with a happy ending. It worked for this piece, though.
Great spelling and telling, but I did spot a couple of tiny niggles (sorry to be so picky-it's a pet peeve of mine):
'...shadows stretched farther into the night(,) and his teeth...'
'... childhood was now left behind in it's tattered remains...' (its)
