You were skipped over for a review in "I Write in 2025 " , so I'm filling in.

This short piece had a lot of sensual details like the cold, the wet, and even the fear was a strong sensation.

I like how the ending is left open in that we don't know if the hope of a warmer, more welcoming place will materialize or not.

The genres Fantasy and Nature are well chosen. I think a third possible genre could be horror/scary or --- completely opposite: children's.
