Sometimes one must laugh. It doesn't need to be big, it doesn't even need to be the funniest thing ever, but laughing means something important - "I'm still alive." I remember reading a Star Wars book, where a couple of Clone Troopers tried to raid an enemy base by going through the sewer system, and they make a breach, and get splattered by waste. Cue both of these highly trained soldiers burst out in laughter, with the main character trooper thinking to themselves that laughing was the oldest "All Clear" signal.
