| In the Garden of the Heart... a Dream. "I have a dream", August 28th ... every year. |
| Hello, I'm one of the official judges for the following: "Rhythms & Writing: Official WDC Contest" ABOUT THIS STORY: A Gardner, who liked to host parties, found out his old neighbors might have been shot. WHAT I LIKED: I liked the subtle use of the theme "Revolution starts now" to start now. The story is a more personal one and appeal on the personal level. INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this story is a song by Steve Earle called "Revolution Starts Now." The song was written in the early 2000's as he had political concerns over the Bush administration's direction it was taking the country. The song is a call to action emphasizing that democracy requires constant vigilance, active participation, and individual empowerment. Democracy starts at the local level and grows upward. That said, I'm looking for similar elements in the story. I found the story resonated with me due to the subtleness and deft handling of the theme. The Gardner wanted to bring people together regardless of who they were and yet time can dull good intentions. The gardner is a character that is likable and sincere. Good luck in the contest. My review is affiliated with the Angel Army
