OUT or FIT - that is the question. Also, do clothes mar the sport?

*PenB* First Impressions:

Well, it sounds like the guests from India were the best dressed people there! ‘Festive’ is a broad term. Especially close to Christmas, I probably would have turned up in a sparkly cocktail dress and heels - also not very practical for the kind of winter games that the organisers had planned here. Some of the people seemed to have got it right as far as the events were concerned (jeans and jackets) but probably didn’t look very festive. And the clothing didn’t give them an advantage. How close the couples were, how much they were in tune, was far more important. It reminded me of my parents who often went for a walk in the evenings, and they looked like they were one person, they were so in sync. They would have done well in these events - although I can’t even imagine three-legged ice skating. Is that a thing? It sounds like a sure way to get some broken ankles!

*PenG* Suggestions:

The story was well written and I only noticed one small error:

how could the let the Indians compete
Just a typo: “how could they let…”

*PenP* Final Thoughts:

The twist at the end was funny. That, too, is a trap I have fallen into, so I make sure that I use ‘spicy’ now, but even that is relative and can probably mean different things. In the end, good communication is key, and while it might be difficult to get the dress code right on an invite, the food should have been easier to manage. The organisers didn’t do very well, but it seems that everyone had a good time anyway. A fun story - I enjoyed the read!
