That was a very sweet surprise for the pregnant woman in the story. I love how the spouse wrapped a gift bow around themselves.

The below copied sentence is not wrong. And it's how we speak, so there isn't really anything to complain about, but in writing, it lines up a whole lot of tiny words:

“I knew how important it was to you for me to be here.”

I don't expect you to go back and change your carefully crafted drabble, I just wanted to point it out for future reference that these sentences can feel like a lot to read through.
