What Starters should I use in the Orange Islands?

Poll Question:
Doing some forward thinking for "Pokéflute Playtime: New Game+" Open in new Window., I may decide to do the Orange Islands as a path. But what Starters should I use?

I don't want to repeat the same three Starters for two paths, which makes me want to try Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour as the Starters. However, they're Gen 5, which has me wondering if I should do such a sudden jump.

On the other hand, should I use the Eeveelutions (Leafeon, Flareon, Vaporeon) as Psudo-Starters? Then again, should I skip it entirely?
