This is a poem to my dog Goldie, who passed away Oct. 27, 2005

GOLDIE GIRL

You were a friend when I needed you,
You were there through good and bad.
When I needed a hug, you always had one
that would change me to happy from sad.

You never asked for anything in return,
And never had a mean thing to say.
With your cute ears, and big brown eyes,
Just you being near made my day.

For fifteen years I was truly blessed,
To say that you were my friend
To me you were better than all of the best,
And my love to you I now send.

If there was a way for me to turn back time
I would do it faster than fast.
If it meant that, you would still be here
Your death never to come to pass.

I miss you so much it is hard to say
The whole that is in my heart.
Without seeing your face each and everyday,
Makes each day very hard to start.

I know one day I will see you again
It just seems like that’s a long time a way.
So for now I will keep you in my heart
And that’s where you will always stay.
