EreeeEEEK………..TWACK!…….BAp…..Bap…bapbap In the distance the old farmhouse screen door announces The entry of another child into The golden sun richly dripping off the frail branches of The Lombardi Poplar with thin leaves that quiver like A new butterfly to the touch of The transparent breeze saturated with the fragrance of Honeysuckle and The Yellow Rose of Texas That luxuriously adorn The entire valley as it is peered at Over pink toes In the apex of my swing NicKEE NicKEE Even the Killdeer knew my name In that place At that time I call home Sadly, I was only eight years old once And I am eternally homesick Other Children's Poetry
