The Social Garden

Its not what lies on the outside that's important but that which resides within

The world is weak with tendencies
to consume and devour;
to find a solid healthy bloom
is to find the rarest flower.
In this garden of thorny roses,
which drown us in their perfume.
It is unusual to find true beauty
and not an empty tomb.
Soulful beyond their colors,
are the markings of these perfect flowers.
Full ripe and waiting
in their final hours
and yet unlike the others
whose petals soon shrivel and wilt.
Their beauty lasts for ages
and their petals soft as silk.
