| Written for Writer's Cramp, 2/8/07 Prompt: write about finding something you thought was lost forever The grass stayed cold as I walked by My skies remained a distant grey I wanted to give at least a try On this frigid, February day I walked along the lonely road The presence of nothing at my side My pace of walk began to slow Something in me had lied I felt the feeling deep down It was a feeling I had lost I felt a revealing turn-around And unthawed from my past’s frost There was no reason furthermore That I had left to lament For this, I simply could no longer store Even to my heart’s content I let the feeling into the air As I couldn’t even mope With the feeling I just had to bear And that feeling was hope (20 lines) |
